BESB Program In Full Swing
: September 15, 2008
PBA has been working with dozens of businesses in SA and NT as part of the Building Entrepreneurship in Small Business (BESB) program to to skill small businesses in the financial, marketing and IT aspects of selling their products through online auctions.
Funding for the program was announced back in 2007 by the then Minister for Small Business and Tourism, Fran Bailey. Nationally, 44 projects received funding totalling more than $10 million.
Fran Bailey said the project aims to enhance the skills in e-business of 268 small business operators, including indigenous owners and young entrepreneurs, in marketing and selling products or services via online auctions.
"Through the 24 workshops being organised, participants will be able to boost their knowledge of online auctions and their skills in marketing to online customers," Fran Bailey said.
"Indigenous organisations such as the Adelaide Indigenous Business Centre and Port Augusta Indigenous Community Volunteers have indicated support for this project.
